The Book of Mal

 

Mal is the illegitimate child of Leaf's father, resulting from an affair. Taken in by him and his wife, Mal has a lonely and miserable childhood, made only bearable by his half-sister Leaf. Soon, he is taken from there by Leaf's uncle, adopting the name of Thrones, and his memory fading away until he is all but raised as Leaf's cousin and remembers nothing but vague memories of pain and misery and indistinct faces. Soon, he sets out on his own pokemon journey, and ends up on a twisted tale to find out about Leaf's death and his disturbing family ties.

Mal Thrones: The main character of the story. He's a tinkerer and inventor, who wants to learn the truth about his cousin's, Leaf, death. He goes on a journey to get down to the bottom of things, only to realize that things aren't what they seem.

 

Leaf Alexiandre: The deceased cousin of Mal, and who is actually his half-sister. She was the Hero of Kanto and defeater of Team Rocket, before her death.

 

Blue Oak: The current Kanto Champion, and the man driving and in control of the car that led to the accident that caused Leaf's death. He is the man Mal blames for her death, and who he swears revenge on.

 

Giovanni Rocketto: A bigshot corporate man, and who is secretly (and unknown to Mal) the boss of Team Rocket. He is also on the Virdian City Council, which is what led to Mal connecting Giovanni somehow to Leaf and being the mysterious G.

 

Gabriel Thrones: Mal's biological uncle, but who adopted him and raised him as his own son.

 

Laylah Thrones: Mal's biological aunt, but took him in with Gabriel.

 

Cassiel Thrones: Mal's biological cousin, but raised as his younger brother. He adores Mal and looks up to him.

 

Roman Alexiandre: Mal's biological father and the father of Leaf. He was the mayor of Pallet Town, before he was disgraced. He gave Mal away to his brother, a little after he received him on his doorstep.

 

Ariana: The biological mother of Mal, and a Rocket Exective -third in rank. She regretfully leaves him on Roman's doorstep.

 

Silver: Mal's half-brother, and the son of Giovanni with Ariana. He essentially becomes Mal's rival.

Eve Rappaccini: A Rocket assassin and a rankless, high member of Team Rocket. Rumored as Giovanni's real right hand, she actually holds close, familiar ties to Mal.

 

Felix Verity: A Pokemon Breeder that Mal gets along with really well, given how close their interests and likes are. They frequently talk about pokemon health and exchange talks about Raphael's pokemon.

 

Raphael d'Alcott: Mal's best friend and who goes on a pokemon journey to win the league. They are like brothers, though Cassiel becomes jealous of this bond and becomes Raphael's rival.

 

Sonia Darkin: A powerful Psychic, who Mal is wary of but tries to befriend. He usually plays peacemaker between her and Raphael.
